Relief of eligible members by means of advice, friendship and pecuniary assistance, regardless of the cause of the problem(s). Assistance would normally only be granted when all statutory sources of assistance had been claimed or exhausted.

Corporate and non corporate members of the Chartered Institute of Building and their families and dependants. Staff and former staff of the CIOB and their dependants. Members of the former Institute of Cost and Production Surveyors and also the London Association of Builders' Foremen and Clerks of Work Benevolent Funds and their families or dependants.
