Headmasters Association Benevolent Fund

Aims

Relief of poverty or distress among dependants of Headmasters who have been members of the incorportated association of headmasters (which became merged with the association of headmistresses in 1978 in the secondary heads association), or such headmasters who themselves through adversity have had to retire early, or in retirement found themselves in straitened circumstances.

People helped

Adults usually aged 50 or older. Dependant children eligible for assistance with education or fringe benefits up to stage of first degree. Loans at low rate of interest, or interest-free, available for major repairs or replacement, provided they are secured on estate or earlier disposal of asset.
