ACO Member Benefits

As we start a new year, we want to remind our members to take advantage of the following benefits of being an ACO member.

Events

We run our Grant Making Forum (GMF) several times a year. This is free to attend for staff at our member charities, with presentations from 2-3 speakers in the sector. If you wish to speak at a future GMF, or know a speaker or topic that would be of interest to ACO members, please get in touch.

If you are in a charity within under five staff members you can also join our Under Fives group, which regularly meets to discuss issues affecting their work after the GMFs. Please email info@aco.uk.net for more information.

ACO also hosts an Annual Conference for a chance to listen to a range of speakers, attend workshop sessions and network with your charity colleagues. This year’s will be taking place at One Great George Street on Friday 15th May 2020.

We are also looking to run more focused training and workshop sessions throughout the year on various topics. Please get in touch if there is an area you would like to see ACO offer training on.

Charity News Review

Our newsletter (10 issues per year) features a round-up of ACO news, news from ACO members, charity and policy news, guest articles and publications relevant to the sector. News featured is also posted to the News section on our website.

If you wish to contribute to the newsletter by sharing your news and campaigns with other ACO members, or want to feature as member of the month as our Member Spotlight, please get in touch with hannah@aco.uk.net

Recruitment

ACO can set up a dedicated page on our Jobs Board to advertise any vacancies our members have and share on our social media profiles. Please Email info@aco.uk.net for more information.

Social Media

ACO has accounts on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn where we regularly share member and sector news.

Please also sign up to our Slack channel – a forum where ACO members can chat and ask questions to each other - by emailing hannah@aco.uk.net for an invite code.

PR and campaigning

ACO seeks to actively promote our members’ interests. We have a dedicated ACO PR working group made up of PR and Communications experts in the sector, and we recently coordinated and ran our first awareness day for members One Day Changes Lives.

ACO Support

On the Members Area of our website you can access a range of resources to assist with your work. This includes Benepedia, which allows you to search through all the publications relevant to the sector included in Charity News Review.

We also have an ACO Legal Helpline for a free 15 minute call with Russell Cooke Solicitors.
