    Social Sunday Update

    This summer, Hospitality Action is asking restaurants, hotels and bars across the nation to help raise funds to support people who work or have worked in hospitality and find themselves in crisis. The aim is to unite the UK's restaurant community in July to help transform hospitality lives.

    CABA launches 3 new courses

    CABA is launching three new courses on how to supercharge your sleep, mindfulness for busy people, and how to develop your self-awareness and improve your career. The courses are designed to help past and present ICAEW members and their families regain control in their lives, and take a more proactive approach to the challenges they face.

    The CIPR benevolent fund, iprovision, has appointed four new trustees as it looks to raise awareness of the range of support it is able to offer members with financial or health issues.

    Friends of the Elderly's New Copford Place care home features beautiful gardens and courtyard with a sheltered seating area - perfect places to relax and read, or talk to friends and family. Thanks to Magical Miniature Ponies, two ponies came in to the home to spend time with residents and their relatives.

    RCN Foundation Spring 2018 bursary

    The RCN Foundation's Professional Bursary Scheme supports individuals in learning and development activities such as post-graduate university study or professional short courses. Three bursary schemes providing up to £5,000 funding are open for applications.

    In 2016-17, the Officers' Association employment team helped 4,782 officers - a 7% increase from the previous year. In addition, 1,757 new job seekers registered with the OA, an increase of 10% from the year before.

    April was National Stress Awareness Month, which has been running as an awareness campaign since 1992. LionHeart's support team has compiled their top 10 stress-busting tips - most of them are simple tweaks to your working day that can have a huge effect on your mental health.

    Help Musicians UK (HMUK) is partnering with Pile Up Festival. Pile Up is holding the first pop punk edition of the festival, Pop Punk Pile Up for 2018, in association with RFF Promotions and Thumbhole Records.

    'The Force for Good' at Chelsea Flower Show

    Help for Heroes and Sparsholt College have announced their partnership for RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2018. Their garden, The Force for Good, will tell the powerful story of the role horticulture plays in the recovery and ongoing support of injured British Armed Forces personnel and their families.

    GroceryAid Traumatic Incident Support

    GroceryAid offers free support to everyone who works within the grocery industry and one service available through the Helpline is Traumatic Incident Support.

    Family Fund shortlisted for Award

    Family Fund has been shortlisted for the UK-wide Charity Governance Awards 2018. The shortlisting is in recognition of the establishment of Family Fund Business Services, which has raised £2.5 million to fund work supporting families raising disabled or seriously ill children.

    Legal Charities Garden Party

    The Legal Charities Garden Party (LCGP) was six years in the planning and was largely the brainchild of Dennis Gordon, the principal founder of the Holborn Law Society. It was set up with the express aim of raising funds for charities which provide financial support for lawyers and their dependents who find themselves in need.

    National poverty charity Turn2us has announced that its Chief Executive, Simon Hopkins, is to step down in the summer after almost five years at the charity. He is to take up a senior position in the education sector.
