Benenden Health sleeps out for homelessness

On the 11th April 2019 Benenden Health staff Andrew Barker, Jane Storey, Marion Hall and Bob Andrews swapped their suits for sleeping bags as part of the national CEO sleepout campaign.

They joined other members of York's business and leadership community to brave a cold night in the grounds of York City Football Club, giving up their warm beds to fight for people in York who are caught in the grip of poverty and homelessness.

Benenden Health commented: “There has been a 4% year on year rise in homelessness according to the national charity Shelter, and last year a shocking 11 homeless people died in York. We are committed to helping raise awareness of these issues of homelessness and poverty and know colleagues agree… we are pleased to be able to get behind the campaign and raise money for CEO Sleepout.”

The money raised will be split between Changing Lives and York City Football Club Foundation with their beneficiaries being Kitchen for Everyone, Chill in the Community, Carecent, Peasholme, Salvation Army Homeless Team and York Foodbank.
