Beginner’s Guide to Social Media (with Charity Digital)

Charity Digital will be running a workshop for ACO members covering the basics of social media for charities.

Please register on Eventbrite to attend.

Using social media marketing for charities sounds like it should be easy but never ends up being that way. Sometimes it almost feels like it isn’t worth investing time into - but with more than half the world’s population using social media daily, it is almost impossible to ignore.

Let’s make things a little easier. In this workshop, Chris (Head of Marketing) and Nick (Growth Marketing Executive) from Charity Digital, aim to help get you started with social media marketing for your charity. Social media can help your charity do a lot, from fundraising to service delivery and so much more!

In their workshop, they will explore the different platforms, their strengths and weaknesses and help you choose the best ones for you to find your target audience. On top of that, they will run interactive sessions on creating the perfect post for the key platforms but also developing social strategies. On top of that, they will run interactive split sessions in which viewers can choose either ‘creating the perfect post for the key platforms’ or ‘developing a social strategy’. Both of these will provide direct support to you as the session runs.

What you can expect from this workshop:

•Guide to the different key platforms, their strengths and weaknesses and how to choose which ones to use.

•Information on creating great content and social campaigns.

•An introduction to paid social media marketing.

• Interactive sessions on:

  • Creating the perfect post for the key platforms.
  • Developing a social strategy.

Please note: Charity Digital would like to ask you a few questions about your charity and its current use of social media as part of the registration process. We'd appreciate you answering these questions so that Charity Digital can better tailor the workshop to the audience.

Due to the interactive nature of this workshop, spaces are limited to 30 attendees to ensure those that attend can get the most out of the session. If spaces are full, please email hannah@aco.uk.net to be added to our waitlist. If you can no longer attend, please let us know so your space can be given to another charity.

Presentation sections of the workshop will be recorded for those that cannot attend. Please register one attendee per organisation, this will give more charities the opportunity to attend and share with their colleagues.
