The disabled children’s charity launched the appeal so they can help more families in financial need.
On Sunday 19 April radio broadcaster and TV presenter Jo Whiley, whose sister has a rare genetic condition and understands the challenges the families the charity support face, presented the Radio 4 Appeal. Jo will tell Hadley’s story and explain how we help disabled and seriously ill children live well through hardship.
Each year Family Fund help 70,000 disabled children in the UK. Hadley has cerebral palsy, a visual impairment and cannot wa lk. She survived Meningitis but sustained severe brain damage. Hadley’s parents tenderly care for her – feeding her through a tube every four hours, and at night, she is often awake. For Hadley, and her family, life can be difficult.
The appeal was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 at 7:54am and 9:25pm, and again on Thursday 23 April at 3:27pm.
