Location: Home working or Trust partner’s office

Salary range: £21,000 per annum

Contract: On secondment, starting as soon as possible until 31/1/22

Hours of work: 35 hours (full time) per week (flexible hours available, job share considered)

Holidays: Pro rata 25 days plus public holidays per annum

Job Description

The Smallwood Trust helps women on low incomes to become financially resilient – overcoming adversity to build a confident, positive and secure future. As a grant-maker, we provide life changing funds to individuals, women’s voluntary sector organisations and policy initiatives that meet our mission.

We know the situation for many people has been exacerbated by the pandemic and the Board have therefore agreed an increase in our 2021 grant-making budget. To support the distribution of these additional funds, we are offering a six month secondment opportunity for a Grants Administrator. The role will assist and guide individuals through our grant-making process. This programme awards grants of c.£700 to individual women who are experiencing low income or life changing events such as loss of income, housing instability or whose situation has been exacerbated by the pandemic.  

Smallwood staff are currently working remotely and this position could also be carried out either working from home or from the parent organisation’s office (candidate must be within the UK). We encourage flexible working and would consider a job share for the right candidates. Across the organisation and recent recruitments, we have been actively seeking to welcome people from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures and experiences. The most important factor to us is to find people who really understand the women we support, whether through lived or gained experience. Three quarters of our staff have lived experience of the issues that our beneficiaries face.
