Hospitality Action ask people to host an Invisible Christmas Party

With the traditional office celebrations looking very different this year, a number of companies are marking the festive season a little differently by hosting a unique kind of Christmas party - an invisible one.

Spearheaded by agency Ready10, a number of companies in the PR industry have joined forces with Hospitality Action to support those who need help at what should be the industry’s busiest time of the year. Those involved have made a donation to the charity and are symbolically hosting an invisible Christmas party - and also calling on other businesses across the UK to get involved.

The ask is for each business to make a donation to Hospitality Action from what would have been their Christmas party budget and host an invisible party on Friday 18th December, aka Mad Friday – traditionally the last big party night before Christmas. There’s no limit to donate, whatever contribution big, or small, will make a difference to those who need it right now.

Those involved are also encouraging more workplaces to sign up– all donations are private with 100% of funds going to Hospitality Action and their work to support members of the hospitality industry who need it most.

Earlier in the year Hospitality Action launched Invisible chips which are helping raise vital funds exclusively to those whose livelihoods are disappearing. In 2020 alone we have given out a record number of grants and our support is needed more than ever.

Whilst the invisible party concept is largely symbolic, many of the teams involved will be marking the day on December 18th by hosting a virtual celebration for staff and handing over their social channels to messages that support the charity’s work.
