New Membership Secretary for RSM

Phoebe Fullbrook has been appointed to the newly-created role of Membership Secretary at the Royal Society of Musicians.

Phoebe trained as a violinist with Sheila M Nelson, and then with Gina McCormack at Trinity College of Music, from where she graduated in 2011 with a first-class honours degree. Since then, she has been freelancing as a performer and string teacher, which has taken her from the Albert Hall playing with the Britten Sinfonia and Rufus Wainwright, to teaching violin and cello to children in Uganda, to performing cabaret on cruise ships.

The inspiring work of The Royal Society of Musicians was recently brought to Phoebe’s attention, when her father Charles Fullbrook (a timpanist and member of the Society since 1978) developed early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. Amongst many adjustments, for Phoebe this triggered a desire for a career change.

She will co-ordinate all aspects of the Society’s membership, including looking after current Members, dealing with all incoming membership applications and helping the Society to develop membership numbers.
