What's in it for us?

What’s in it for us? ICE Benevolent Fund explains why they are getting involved with ACO’s One Day Changes Lives Campaign.

At the ICE Benevolent Fund, we’re a firm believer that lots of people contributing something small makes a huge difference. We are lucky to have a large number of members, each donating a small amount, which collectively has a huge impact on the services we are able to deliver.

So, when the ACO announced their ‘One Day Changes Lives’ PR project at their Annual Conference, it totally supported our ethos of communities of people coming together to make a massive impact.

Imagine the social media boom we can create, if all of us are talking about our work on the same day, using the same channels and with the same messaging and branding?  How many of us have the opportunity to work on a national PR campaign as individual charities? We certainly don’t have that capacity financially or resource wise. So, it’s a no-brainer for us to come together to work with our colleagues across the sector and show the nation the huge reach and value of our work as a collective group and using the hashtag #SmallActsChangeLives

We already have data about our individual work and case stories we can share, so it won’t take long to add that into the campaign, and with a Communications Masterclass taking place in June we can benefit from the knowledge of the PR company to help us learn how best to create and put out the content for the campaign.

So, what we will get in return for a small amount of effort?

  • a national public relations campaign with a much smaller than usual budget commitment
  • sharing communications best practice and working with colleagues across the sector
  • amplification of communications at a single point in time
  • a huge uplift in publicity and awareness of the ICE Benevolent Fund and the services we can provide.

We’re looking forward to getting started on this and hope that as many of you as possible will be able to get involved and get the collective benefits too.
