Charity News Review: June 2023

Read the latest news from within ACO membership and across the charity sector. This month’s edition includes recent publications by StepChange and JRF.

A word from our Chief Executive…

Dear ACO Colleagues,

Next week sees Small Charities Week – raising awareness of the critical contribution of the UK’s small charity sector and the impact they make on the lives of individuals and families across the UK. Within the ACO network, we include a significant number of small charities and we certainly want to celebrate the role they play in meeting the needs of their respective communities and audiences. In the meantime, we continue to run our regular Small Charites group, which next meets on 27th July – any new comers welcome!

In the meantime, we will also be launching early bird tickets next week for our ACO Annual Conference on 27 September in London. We’re very excited about this year’s event – focused around the changing nature of support to individuals and families – and so would encourage our ACO colleagues to take advantage of our (short term) discounted tickets whilst they are available!

ACO News

ACO’s Impact & Evaluation Group have worked in collaboration with Pro Bono Economics to create a report around the Financial Impact of Essential Household Appliances.

The launch of the report will take place on 21st June 5.00-8.00pm hosted by Quilter Cheviot.

The aim of the research research has been to establish a clear ‘pounds and pence’ figure for the impact of having household appliances and to enable the individual grant making sector to confidently communicate the impact of grants activity.

We will circulate further details around the full report  in the next few weeks.
