Charity News Review: October 2025

Read the latest ACO newsletter with updates from us, our members and the wider charity sector.

Welcome to the October edition.

Whilst I can’t claim to have had first hand experience of last month’s ACO Annual Conference (Covid took care of that!) – we’ve had tremendous feedback from our colleagues who were able to join us. From all accounts the event provided a tremendous forum for members to come together and connect, sharing approaches and solutions to some of the common challenges our charities face. At the same time, congratulations once again to all the winners of our ACO Annual Awards, which closed out the day – once again celebrating the achievements of colleagues across the sector.

In the meantime, we are very excited about the ACO brand development project our colleagues at Red Stone are currently working with us on. Focusing around how we can refresh the ACO brand so that it more accurately reflects us as an organisation and how we engage with members and our external audiences, we will be launching our new “look and feel” in early January. We’ll keep you updated!

On a final note, a quick reminder that we have places remaining on our latest Frontline Worker programme module this month: our free Gambling Harms Introduction workshop will provide a practical insight into the extent of gambling and gambling harms in the UK, and what signs to look out for in your beneficiaries/service users. Further details here – well worth considering.
