About The Fishermen’s Mission
Founded in 1881, The Fishermen’s Mission is the UK’s only national charity dedicated solely to supporting fishermen and their families. The Role
We are seeking a committed, values-driven Trustee to join our Board (Council of Management) and help guide the strategic leadership of the charity.

As part of our planned Board succession, we are specifically looking to appoint an ordained Christian Minister, reflecting our ecumenical Christian foundations. This trustee will serve alongside our existing ordained Minister and a diverse group of trustees who share our mission, ethos, and values.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of an established national charity and see the real impact of your contribution on fishing communities across the UK.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • An ordained Christian Minister or recognised religious professional.
  • Passionate about community service, charitable governance, and mission-focused work.
  • Supportive of our Christian heritage and ethos.
  • Keen to make a meaningful contribution to our strategic direction.

Previous trustee experience is not required: We will provide full support and training. If you share our commitment to the welfare of fishermen and their families, we would love to hear from you, even if you do not meet every listed criterion.

A detailed Trustee Candidate Information Pack (including a person specification, responsibilities and details of the time commitment) is available here and in the supporting documents below.

How to Apply
To discuss the role informally, please contact our Chief Executive, Marc Evans, at marcevans@fishermensmission.org.uk.

When you are ready to apply, please send your CV and a covering letter outlining why you wish to become a Trustee and how your skills, knowledge, and experience would strengthen our Board.

Closing date
 Friday 29 May 2026.
