Charity News Review: June 2026

Catch up on the latest ACO newsletter, bringing together member insight, sector developments and updates from across our network.

Welcome to the June edition.

This week is Small Charity Week, a national celebration of the role small charities (with an annual income of under £1m) play across the UK. We’ve published a blog sharing stories from some of our own members, capturing the difference they make every day, as well as events from our partners. You can read it here. For further details on the week itself, visit the official Small Charity Week website, where you’ll find a range of downloadable assets and resources.

We’re currently working with our colleagues at Rightsteps to publish our Frontline Worker report. Drawing on over 120 survey responses, we’ll be sharing a range of insights into the challenges faced by those in direct client and beneficiary-facing roles, covering areas such as emotional impact, resilience, workplace culture and the organisational support that can play such an important part in worker wellbeing. We’ll be publishing our findings in July.

In the meantime, we’re looking forward to welcoming Penny Wilson as our guest speaker at the 2026 AGM and Summer Reception on 30 June in London. A well-known charity sector commentator and trustee specialist, Penny will be offering a light-hearted, relatable and often irreverent look at what makes great boards and trustees, and challenging a few assumptions along the way. With a drinks reception to follow, it’s a lovely opportunity to connect and reconnect with colleagues from across the network as we head into summer. Register here if you’d like to join us.
