ACO’s Annual General Meeting and Summer Social returns this summer, kindly hosted by Rathbones in London.

This is your opportunity to hear updates directly from ACO on the work we have been doing on behalf of our members, connect with fellow members from across the grant-giving community and enjoy an informal drinks reception to round off the afternoon.

We are delighted to announce our guest speaker: Penny Wilson.

Penny is a well-known charity sector commentator and writer for Third Sector and Governance and Leadership magazine. She serves as Director of The Festival of Trusteeship for Eastside People, advises CEOs on building effective working relationships with their boards and helps funders and charity networks strengthen trustee support through training, guidance and research.

Her passions include the unsung impact of smaller charities, bringing a wider group of talented people into trusteeship and increasing support for the one million trustees across the UK.

A former CEO of Getting on Board, the organisation was training over 10,000 trustees a year by the time she departed in 2024. She is currently an inclusive charity governance consultant and sits on the Charity Commission’s Board Behaviours and Dynamics Working Group.

Penny thinks charity governance is exciting. That might make her a nerd, or might mean everyone else is wrong. She is willing to accept both possibilities.

What to expect:

  • ACO’s Annual General Meeting
  • A keynote address from Penny Wilson, charity sector commentator and governance specialist
  • Our Summer Social drinks reception, a relaxed opportunity to connect with fellow members from across the grant-giving community

Whether you are a regular attendee or joining us for the first time, this is a great chance to take stock of the year, hear from a respected sector voice and spend time with peers who understand the work you do.

Places are limited, so we encourage you to register early to secure yours.
