Lightning Reach workshop – How different charities are using the Lightning Reach Portal one year since launch
The Lightning Reach Portal has now been helping individuals to find and apply for financial support available from different sources for over 1 year.
Since its launch at the end of 2021, the portal has developed and changed considerably thanks to the input and feedback of the Social Innovation Council, consisting of different charities and organisations providing support to individuals. They have now helped facilitate £3m in grants to individuals through the portal and have over 30,000 registered users, have implemented a benefits check, and added 500+ local support schemes to the portal. Their latest support partners include the Royal British Legion, RAF Benevolent Fund, Buttle UK and Lambeth Council.
Join Lightning Reach as they share an update on how the portal has grown and developed over the past year to help streamline the process of applying for support for individuals during the cost of living crisis, while helping organisations to make their application processes more efficient to be able to cope with increased demand on services.
You’ll hear from ACO members and charities of different sizes already using the portal as they share their experiences of using the platform in different ways – from helping charities to process large volumes of crisis grants quickly and efficiently, reaching a wider and more diverse range of service users, to charities who are using some of the modules, including open banking and ID verification, to reduce fraud and speed up processes.
