Charity News Review: March Edition

Dear ACO Colleagues

As you may be aware, we have recently commissioned Pro Bono Economics to undertake a study calculating the financial impact of giving essential household appliances. Reporting in early summer, we think this project will make a tremendous contribution to charities understanding of the social impact of providing household support of this nature. One of the key takeaways from this project will be the production of a toolkit that can be used by members to regularly update changes to the cost of living and different grant funded items in this area. We will be holding a London launch event for the research on 21 June – more detail to follow.

In the meantime, we’re very excited about our upcoming Case Workers Conference on Tuesday 28 March (kindly supported by the OT Practice). With over 70 colleagues registered already, we’ve put together a strong programme that will share some of the challenges facing case workers/case work teams alongside key insights from a range of external speakers. For further details/registration see here. At the same time, we have also published a range of our forthcoming Spring events which can be found on the ACO website.

On a final note, we will shortly be looking at building our new ACO Strategy for the next three years and its obviously critical that we incorporate feedback/perspectives from our membership. As part of this, please look out for a snap member survey on Monday morning (20th) – we have a quick turnaround of Friday 24th for responses and we’d gratefully appreciate your insights.

Thanks

Donal Watkin
Chief Executive
